Match Report Year 8 Football 13 October 2016
Thursday 13 October Year 8 Boys Notley v Colne School Final Score 4-3 to Notley Both Notley and Colne started the game strongly, with both teams playing some good football. It was a much more open game than when the two teams met in the Essex Cup a couple of weeks ago. Colne were the first team to take their chance, a good through pass from one of their midfielders put their striker through on goal to open the scoring. Notley tried to get back into the game, and did so through so good play from Kieran Millar and Adam Brand-Barker causing one of the Colne players to score an own goal. With it looking like both teams going into the break even, a mix up in defence allowed Colne to score a second, 2-1 at half-time. In the second half Notley started strongly and Adam Brand-Barker scored to make it 2-2. Within a couple of minutes Colne were back in front with another well worked goal. But two more quick goals from Adam Brand-Barker, the first lobbing the goal keeper and the second a bullet header to complete his hat-trick, secured the win for Notley. Adam Brand-Barker Man of the Match, with Luke Waters a very close second.
